National Foundation for Credit Counseling

February 9, 2009 Foreclosure: Protect Yourself and Your Family With Help From the National Foundation for Credit Counseling SILVER SPRING, MD--(Marketwire - February 09, 2009) - According to current housing statistics,

one child in every classroom in America is at risk of losing his or her

home because their parents are unable to pay the family's mortgage. More

and more families are finding themselves caught in the squeeze of an

adjustable rate mortgage with increased monthly payments, that they can't

afford, leading to the possibility of foreclosure. They are not alone.

Over two million mortgages will reset during the next 18 months putting

monthly payments out of reach for many. The National Foundation for Credit

Counseling, the nation's largest and longest serving national nonprofit

credit counseling organization, has established the Homeowner Crisis

Resource Center at www.nopierdastuhogar.org . This free resource offers

resolution options.

nonprofit founded in 1951. In an effort to provide options and solutions,

as well as financial education and support during the ongoing mortgage

crisis, the NFCC has developed a public service campaign specifically

addressing foreclosure prevention. The NFCC's mission is to promote the

national agenda for financially responsible behavior and build capacity for

its more than 100 members to deliver the highest quality financial

education and counseling services. Setting the national standard for

quality credit counseling, debt reduction services and education for

financial wellness, NFCC members annually help well over two million

consumers through its nearly 850 community-based offices ...
