SAN FRANCISCO, June 26, 2005 ˜ Stern Grove will come alive with the
electrifying sounds of Flamenco sensation Ojos de Brujo and local favorite
O-Maya on Sunday, June 26 at 2:00 p.m. This admission-free performance will
take place in the newly remodeled Sigmund Stern Grove, located at 19th
Avenue and Sloat Boulevard in San Francisco.
Stern Grove Festival will also present a free Musical Conversation lecture
with O-Maya on Saturday, June 25 at 12:00 p.m. at the Mission Cultural
Center for Latino Arts, 2868 Mission Street, in San Francisco.
Ojos de Brujo
Barcelona sensation Ojos de Brujo (Eyes of the Wizard) opens the afternoon
with their mesmerizing and captivating sound. This eight-person collective
combines Flamenco‚s driving rhythms and guitar with hip-hop, funk, soul, and
other urban music. With their unique and dynamic performances, Ojos de Brujo
celebrates the energetic rhythms and passion of traditional Flamenco and the
global sounds of Barcelona. Founded in 1996 as an informal pickup group,
Ojos de Brujo has evolved to include members from all over Spain, including
percussionists, Flamenco guitarists, vocalists, DJs, and a Flamenco dancer.
O-Maya
Formed in the Bay Area in 1999, O-Maya is a 10-piece collective combining
Afro-Latin and hip-hop influences while incorporating samba, reggae, and
salsa beats. A Bay Area favorite, O-Maya‚s music brings the crowd to the
dance floor and reflects messages of positivity and social change.
Stern Grove Festival‚s 68th Season is made possible with support from Major

A treasured Bay Area tradition since 1938, Stern Grove Festival is delighted
to announce its 68th Season of 10 admission-free concerts, every Sunday at
2:00 p.m. from June 19 through August 21, 2005 at the newly remodeled
Sigmund Stern Grove in San Francisco.
Sigmund Stern Grove has just undergone a $15 million renovation project to
improve access and seating in the Rhoda Goldman Concert Meadow, build a new
stage, and add new facilities, including a Green Room, artist dressing
rooms, and public restrooms. Designed by renowned landscape architect,
Lawrence Halprin, the $15 million renovation project was completed in May of
