2010 National Rate Card

National Open Rate: $30.00 per column inch B/W

Recognized advertising agencies will be invoiced at the gross rate of $30.00 per column inch. El Bohemio News will invoice the placing agency at 15% less. The agency must perform all normal advertising agency services including supplying orders. The agency assumes financial responsibility for all advertising placed. Please call for quote on multiple insertions. ROP zoning is not available at this time.

Free Standing Inserts (FSI) Open Rate: $25.00 per thousand, NET

Multiple Free Standing Insert orders may qualify for discounts. Less than full run insertions are $35.00 per thousand. FSI zoning is available. Please refer to our FSI Zone Chart.

Color Charges: $150.00 per color in addition to black

Service charge applies for any ink requested that is not in our standard color range. Rates for more than two colors are available upon request and are subject to press availability. Full color (four color process) is $300.00 per ad.

Guaranteed Placement

Guaranteed placement is available on ads 1/4 page or larger, subject to a 5% surcharge. All other advertising will be placed at the discretion of the publisher.

Political Rate:$25.00 per column inch

Payment in advance is required. Political ads must display the name and address of the person or organization responsible for the advertisement.

Artwork

For a nominal fee we can assist in the translation and preparation of your ad.

Deadlines

El Bohemio News goes to press Thursday at noon and is distributed on Friday. The following deadlines apply:

Space reservation – By Monday, noon, week of publication

Copy for ads requiring proofs – By Monday, 5:00 P.M., week of publication

Camera-ready ads must arrive – By Wednesday, 5:00 P.M., week of publication

Corrections to ads – Not later than Tuesday, noon, week of publication

Cancellations – By Monday, 5:00 P.M., week of publication

When a holiday falls on or between normal deadlines, please advance these dates by twentyfour hours.

Mechanical Requirements

Ads may be sent via e-mail in PDF and other file formats. Please call your representative to coordinate for file formats other than PDF.

Measurements:

We publish in a standard broadsheet format and subscribe to the Standard Advertising Unit (SAU) system. Our "live area " is six columns wide by twenty inches high yielding 120 column inches per page. Full depth ("FD") is considered, for billing purposes, to be 120 column inches. A double truck is considered, for billing purposes, to be two pages at 6 x FD or 240 column inches.

A double truck must be placed in a center spread. We do not permit crossovers.

Terms and Policies

1. Full payment in advance is required for all advertising orders without prior credit approval or until credit is approved by the publisher.

2. If credit has been approved, payment of invoice is due and payable on presentation. If payment is not received in thirty days, invoice may be subject to a late charge equal to 1 1/2 percent of the paid balance (eighteen percent annually).  All uncollected accounts will be assigned to appropriate  collection agencies after 90 days.

3. All retail rates are non-commissionable.

4. The publisher reserves the right to revise the rates and terms of this rate card upon thirty days notice to advertisers.

5. The publisher reserves the right to accept, reject or edit copy. All advertising is subject to the established policies and final approval of the publisher.

6. Publisher 's liability for errors in the printing of the advertising will not exceed the cost of that portion of the space occupied by such error, nor will liability for errors on multiple insertions exceed the cost of the first ad. Claims and adjustments must be made within ten days of publication.

7. Advertiser and/or advertising agency assumes all liability for advertisements published and agrees to assume any and all responsibility for claims occurring against publisher.

8. The publisher is not responsible for the quality and/or accuracy of the artwork provided.

9. The publisher is not responsible for the return of artwork or other advertising materials.

10. The publisher will not be liable for failure to furnish advertising space or to publish any advertisement due to strikes, labor disputes, government actions, acts of God, earthquakes, floods, fires, war, insurrection, breakdown of equipment or any other cause beyond the control of publisher.

11. Notice of cancellation of advertising must be received from advertiser by 5:00 P.M. on the Monday of the week of publication. Failure to make a timely notification will result in a penalty equal to 100%of the publication fee.

12. The minimum size for an advertisement is one column inch.
